Our goal is to create beautiful pieces for you and your home. We believe in the value of handmade and the unique story behind each piece.
A Little About Me
I was born and raised in Montana’s Bitterroot Valley. A small, quant town that will always hold special place in my heart, but I had always wondered what life was like outside of Hamilton, MT and wanted to experience a bigger area that offered different adventures than I was used to. California offered that opportunity so in my early 20’s I packed up my ’91 Honda Accord and moved to Santa Clarita with only $400 in my pocket. After working multiple jobs and putting myself through Cosmetology school, I met my incredible husband and landed on the Central Coast. We now have three amazing kids (a girl and two boys), and two sweet pups.
Though life was busy as a stay at home mother to three young kids, I found that creating was something I HAD to do. I was made to be a maker, a creative, an artist. It is a part of who I am. Then I discovered Mudcloth. I fell in love with the story behind the textile and that it was made by hand using mud and plants. I wanted to be able to add to the story. I also wanted to be able to create while having the freedom to be flexible with my time and show my children that hard work is worth it when your passionate about what you’re doing.
In 2017 I started Sugar & Dirt Designs as a handmade pillow shop where I seek out unique textiles from all over the world and make them into designer pillow covers for your home. Since then, I have added handbags and other products to my shop that offer function as well as design. All handmade by me. It’s such a beautiful adventure growing my small shop and continuing to dream up new pieces for you and your home.
